hillias retreat recommends
Over the Years our guestbook comments and feedback from our regular guests has provided us this information that the following establishments are very popular with the tourists. These are not our personal recommendations nor any of the outlets mentioned below are our favourites. They are considered to be above average by many of our guests.

Pinto Bar and Restarant
Guests who have visited Cabo de Rama fort have found this restaurant very easily accessible, immediately after coming out from the fort. Nothing fancy about this bar, but very down to the earth, local and authentically Goan. Foreign tourists have enjoyed drinking along with the local village people.
Silent Noise Parties at Alpha Bar, Palolem
If you wanted to party all night till the early hours of pre-dawn, chances are the cops will turn up at 11pm! Introducing “Silent Noise”, a headphone party. Yes, it does sound ridiculous, but hey, it works here in Goa!
A bunch of bright fellas came up with the headphone idea to break the 11pm curfew, where the main complaint was the loud music. Here’s how it w orks: When you enter the bar, you pick up a pair of headphones (for a fee). You can either hit the dance floor or be seated at a table. Either ways, in order to listen to music, all you have to is put on your headphones. When you want to talk to your friend, both of you just have to take off your headphones and talk. Unlike pubs with loud music where it is near impossible to have a conversation, in a headphone party it is quite easy to talk without screaming your guts out. Once you are done talking, put your headphones back on and continue grooving.
I totally love this idea. It lets one enjoy music and talk to friends in the same place, and besides, the neighbours do not complain. Of course, when you take off your headphones and see all the people dancing in silence, it is quite funny!
